My Daddy Hid His Power

Q: Describe your feelings upon discovering your trusted dad isn't just an extra. A: W-what the heck... Give me back my "Random Imperial Citizen #1" life...

Living in a world of constant war—365 days of chaos—a simple, extra's existence was a blessing. At least, that's what I thought. In a small village, I enjoyed a humble life with my loving, ordinary father, James Brown, 27, the epitome of an unremarkable single dad. Or so I believed.

"Ladies and gentlemen, presenting my father! The quintessential symbol of extras everywhere! Brown hair, brown eyes, plain and simple! This man screams 'background character,' living a quiet life chopping wood in a mountain village with his adorable daughter. Right? ...RIGHT?"

The knight commander merely stared at me in silence. And then, the unthinkable happened. Behind me, my father's worn staff began to glow with a strange, blue aura.

"...Dad?"

Before I could process what was happening, his unassuming brown hair and eyes shifted. Slowly but surely, they transformed into... Shimmering silver locks and piercing blue eyes—practically shouting "I'm the protagonist!"

"WHAT?!"

My simple, extra life shattered into a million pieces as my dad—no, this mysterious powerhouse—gripped his weapon and snarled: "Give me back my daughter, you bastard."
