Must the Reincarnated Mother Always Die?

Helio Carlo is a vicious tyrant and merciless emperor whom the king of the puny Kingdom of Nieta dared challenge. The bested kingdom bows before the mighty empire, and Helio requests one of the five princesses as his future empress consort. The princess is evidently no more than a hostage; so the king offers the poor Lilliana, the unloved and shunned daughter. But Lilliana cannot bring herself to care—she has decided to flee!

In fact, Lilliana knows all about Helio thanks to a childcare feel-good fantasy novel she read in her previous life. Their adorable pink-haired daughter will eventually melt Helio's icy heart, and Lilliana will appear only in flashbacks, having died in childbirth. Absolutely dead set on staying alive, Lilliana insists on emphasizing all her shortcomings—but it makes Helio surprisingly fond of her. Though it appears her new husband is actually kind, humane, and rather handsome, Lilliana refuses to surrender to his charms and swears to avoid her awful fate.
